Biography
The Alter
Ego Show Band is show band which performs the best rhythm and blues, funk, disco, pop, rock, jazz, blues and country tunes ever written. The Fort Myers, Florida, based Alter Ego Band which typically includes three to four horns, has played public, corporate and private events, including weddings and Bar Mitzvahs in the Fort Myers/Naples, Florida, area since its debut in 2000, and comes complete with its own sound system and sound engineers.
The name Alter Ego, which has its roots in the legal term alter ego, which means “second self,” seemed befitting because the band’s founding members are local professionals by day. Lead singer Tracey Caruso owns and manages Coppin Allstate Insurance; trumpeter and Alter Ego Music Director Dr. Tony Fransway is a dermatologist; drummer/booking agent Todd Caruso is a certified public accountant. Founder guitarist/bassist, Robert Barclift is a Federal Prosecutor during the week and an Army JAG officer on week ends, when not playing music.
Tracey is joined up front by vocalists Douglas Molloy, also a Federal Prosecutor and Dr. George Markovich, a former navy doc who practices orthopedics in Fort Myers. Russell Blair, organist/ keyboardist/electrican; Morris Brooks, bassist/vocalist/roofing contractor; and Randy Thomas, guitarist/vocalist/renowned song writer/producer & session player round out the rhythm section.
Joining Dr. Fransway in the Alter Ego Horns are Mike Santiago, trumpeter/print company manager, who previously toured with Celia Cruz, among others; trombonist/educational administrator Tom DeCourcey, who previously toured with Sly and the Family Stone, and the baby in the group, saxophonist and Marvin Gaye look alike, Gerald Augustan, who is a college student.
Robert Roderick and his son, Robert, provide sound company support and insure that Alter Ego’s sound is always at its finest.
